In Queensland, landlords can charge a maximum bond of four weeks' rent for most residential tenancies. The bond must be lodged with the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) within 10 days of receipt and is held in trust until the tenancy ends. Deductions can only be made for unpaid rent or damage beyond fair wear and tear.
