• Planning/permissions: Confirm your property’s zoning/use under the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law; get written consent where required. Check sectional title/HOA rules (e.g., short-stay restrictions, guest limits).
• Safety/building: Install working smoke alarms, service fire equipment, display emergency/house rules, and ensure gas/electrical work has a valid Certificate of Compliance. Manage noise, parking and waste.
